ALCOHOLIC ILLUSIONS
I yawn and pass out spinning into darkness.
Waking up after a good long rest, I turn over and watch her.
Squirming and moaning in her morning stretch.
As her eyes open, she smiles a smile that allows me to hop out of bed into the coldness.
She yawns and says to me, “I love you”, as she purrs.
I think to myself, “what a wonderful catch”.
I mean, I’ve fished and I’ve played, but I’m caught just like she is.
Independent, but dependent on my love, she is who I’ve dreamt of and who I’ve wanted for years.
As I bend over to hug her and engage in a kiss, my alarm clock goes off with an awakening buzz.
My eyes are full of sleep and I’m still full of beer, for man I’ve passed out and awaken in a reality of shit and tears!
It was an alcoholic illusion, just an illusion.
Emmmmmph
Emmmmmph.
I think I had too much to drink
Emph
Just an alcoholic illusion.
Just an illusion
